Haryana reports 92 fresh Covid cases

With 92 fresh Covid-19 cases, Haryana’s caseload surged to 267897 on Sunday while one more person succumbed to the virus taking the toll to 3018 in the State.

One death was reported in Gurugram district due to Covid-19, the State’s Health Department’s bulletin stated.

As per the bulletin, a maximum of 18 fresh cases were reported from Gurugram followed by 13 in Yamunanagar.

There were 1115 active cases in the state till the evening. 110 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours taking the total recoveries in the State to 263764.

Out of 37 critical patients admitted in the hospitals, 31 patients were on oxygen support while six were on ventilator, the health bulletin said.

According to the bulletin, the fatality rate was recorded at 1.13 percent in Haryana. The case-doubling rate in Haryana stood at 118 days, COVID positive rate was 5.18 per cent and recovery rate was recorded at 98.46 percent.

As many as 51.72 lakh samples have been tested till date in Haryana, it added.

 A total of 4733 number of plasma units have been collected from COVID 19 recovered patients till date and 3177 COVID 19 patients were given plasma therapy treatment in Haryana.

Chd reports 26 fresh COVID cases

The union territory of Chandigarh reported 26 fresh COVID-19 positive cases on Sunday. As per the Chandigarh Health Department’s evening bulletin, the total case tally reached 20925 and the death toll stood at 334 with no fatality reported in the last 24 hours. There were 165 active cases till the evening. 12 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries to 20426.  Among 26 fresh cases, 16 were males and 10 were females.

2.16 lakh samples have so far been tested in the city. A total of 1004 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours and the report of 83 was awaited, the bulletin added.

Meanwhile, the PGIMER Director Prof Jagat Ram on Sunday lauded Covishield vaccine trial team for bringing laurels to the institute.

In all, 149 volunteers were recruited in the trial. All the participants have completed 28 days post-vaccination of the second dose, and 134 participants have completed three months post the first dose of the vaccine without any major side effects. The follow-up of the volunteers will be continued till 6 months after the first dose of the vaccine, Dr Jagat Ram said. The Covishield vaccine trial team was led by Prof Madhu Gupta from the Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGIMER.
