In a major decision, the Chhattisgarh cabinet on Tuesday decided to hand over the 58 colonies of Chhattisgarh Housing Board (CHB) in different districts to the urban bodies of respective areas.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel chaired the cabinet meeting, an official statement said.
Apart from CHB developed colonies, the completed sectors of Kamal Vihar scheme under Raipur Development Authority will be handed over to the Raipur Municipal Corporation.
The approval was given to sell self-financed residential/commercial properties of CHB at cost price. In addition, a special rent purchase scheme and One Time Settlement will be implemented.
In 14 colonies and 7 commercial premises of CHB, the average price of the houses will be 16.5 percent less.
The Cabinet also approved to allocate 20 acres of land at Nava Raipur free of cost to the School Education Department to establish a world class educational institution.
