Punjab CM greets people on eve of Baisakhi

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh on Monday greeted Punjabis across the world on the sacred occasion of the Sajna Divas of the ‘Khalsa Panth’ and ‘Baisakhi’, which symbolizes the spirit of Punjab, Punjabi, and Punjabiat. Capt Amarinder, in a message on the eve of Baisakhi, reminded the people of centuries-old rich cultural heritage of Punjab, and exhorted them to uphold those traditions. Underlining that the festival also marks the onset of harvest season and ripening of crops.

 

PSPCL organises Covid vaccination camp

Patiala: A covishield vaccination camp was organized by the office of chief engineer distribution South Zone of  Punjab State  Power Corporation Limited  here.  R.P. Pandove director administration was the chief guest on the occasion.The camp was organized  in association with the medical team deputed by deputy commissioner  Patiala.  A total of 181 employees of PSPCL got vaccinated.

 

Punjab to fill 160 vacancies of clerk (legal)

Chandigarh: Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board has issued advertisement to fill 160 vacancies of clerk legal in various departments of Punjab Government. Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board chairman Raman Bahl said that advertisement has been issued to invite applications for 160 vacancies of clerk legal in various departments of Punjab Government from April 12, 2021, and the last date to apply is May 10 while applicants can submit fees till May 13.

 

Rajpura man wins Rs 1 cr on Rs 100 ticket

Chandigarh: Punjab State Dear 100 Monday Weekly Lottery transformed the life of a Rajpura man into a fairytale as he hit the jackpot thereby winning Rs one crore from a lottery ticket worth Rs 100. Tinku Kumar, who works as a contractor, after submitting the ticket and required documents to the State Lotteries Department for encashment of the prize money, said that he had been purchasing the lottery ticket for 15-16 years but the luck has smiled on him finally.

 

Haryana taking initiative to promote Sanskrit

Chandigarh: Haryana Govt is taking special initiative to promote Sanskrit language in the State. Haryana CM Manohar Lal, who is also the president of Haryana Sanskrit Academy, has made a provision of Rs 51.11 lakh as scholarship for the students who have passed the examination of Pratham, Purvamadhyama, Uttarmadhyama, Visharad, Prakshastri, Shastri and Acharya in the year 2018 and 2019 in Sanskrit language courses.

 

200-bedded hospital to be built in Rewari

Chandigarh: Haryana Co-operation Minister Dr Banwari Lal said that a 200-bed hospital will be built in Rewari city and space is being sought for the same. There is a delay in bringing patients to the Civil Hospital in Rewari as it is located in a heavily populated and crowded area, he said while inspecting the COVID-19 Vaccination Centre at Rewari Civil Hospital on Monday. Dr Lal said that 93,178 people have been vaccinated in Rewari so far and more citizens will be vaccinated under ‘Teeka Utsav’.

 

Taraori Police Station adjudged ‘Best Police Station’

Chandigarh: Taraori Police Station in Karnal district has been adjudged as the ‘Best Police Station’ in Haryana in the annual ranking of police stations for 2020. The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has also issued a certificate of ‘Best Police Station 2020’ to the Taraori Police Station. Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Manoj Yadava informed that annual ranking of best police stations is carried out every year by Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Apart from selecting 10 best police stations in the country, state-wise ranking is also issued, wherein Taraori Police Station has figured.

 

Newly-appointed trainee IAS call upon Haryana Guv

Chandigarh: Haryana Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya was paid a courtesy call by nine newly-appointed trainee officers of the Indian Administrative Services at the Raj Bhavan on Monday. The officers include Assistant Commissioner (Under Training), Hisar; Ankita Choudhary, Assistant Commissioner (Under Training), Karnal; Niraj, Assistant Commissioner (Under Training).
