BJP delegation visits b’pur vaccination centres

Brahmapur: A delegation of BJP leaders of Ganjam headed by district president Bibhuti Bhushan Jena visited some Covid vaccination centres here on Sunday and thanked the Modi Government for facilitating such a massive drive. They met and discussed with senior citizens who took the first dose of corona jab at PHC Taluka and PHC at Agha Street. They also distributed water and fruits at these centres. The delegation included Kanhu Pati, Bhabagrahi Palo, Bijay Gopal, Kiran Kumar Sahu, Santosh Mohanty, Pravat Sadangi, Sunil Sahu, Sunil Patro and Rakesh Sabat.

Ramlingeswar Tank bags national award

Brahmapur: The RamalingeswarTank, which has been renovated at a cost of Rs 12 core, has won the prestigious D-Lets Award of the Ministry of Hydropower. BeMC Commissioner Siddeswar Baliram Bondar received the national-level award online from the Ministry recently. The award was given in the category of reclamation and development of periphery of a water source in a city landscape.

Doc performs rare eye surgery on TU leader 

Paradip: Former AIIMS, Delhi doctor and eminent ophthalmologist Amarendra Samal successfully performed a rare eye surgery of prominent trade union leader of Paradip and State BJD secretary Santosh Kumar Patnaik in his ophthalmology clinic NIRVANA in Bhubaneswar on Monday. Patnaik conveyed his gratitude to Dr Samal and wished him a long life. The doctors are the living gods, who successfully cure serious illnesses and give patients another life. One of them is Dr Samal, whose service helps patients get cure at low costs, he said.

Dance drama on ‘Patent Medicine’ held in D’nal

Dhenkanal:  A dance drama choreographed on Vyasakabi Fakir Mohan Senapati’s satirical novel “Patent Medicine”, which was staged by students of the Nataraj Sangeet Mahavidyalaya at the Gopabandhu Townhall here on Sunday, left the viewers spellbound. The dance drama was sponsored by the Dept of Culture, Govt of India, in association with the District Journalists’ Association. Biswabhusan Champatiray, Subhrajyoti Rout, Rituparna Rout, Aniket and Amrita were the performers of the dance drama, which was choreographed and directed by Guru Aniket Pallav Nayak.

‘Silk India’ exhibition in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar : Artisans from all over India, at the behest of the Orissa Art and Craft Committee have come to Bhubaneswar to exhibit their ethnic weaves and traditional pure silk and cotton products at Hotel Marrion to cater to the demand of the festival season with the theme, "Silk India – Wedding Collection". The Orissa Art and Craft Committee founded by a group of artisans, designers, social activists, academics and environmentalists, attempts to promote exquisite traditional skill, cotton and creations of the weavers and encouraging them to be contemporary and economically relevant.
