The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) observed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on Friday as Unemployment Day and launched a ‘Halla-Bol’ protest against privatization of the underconstruction Nagarnar Steel Plant of the public sector mining major NMDC Ltd.
Under the leadership of Chhattisgarh IYC chief Purnachandra Padhi, the organization took out a march from Markel to Jagdalpur in which Bastar MP Deepak Baij and Jagdalpur MLA Rekhchand Jain were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Padhi said the Modi government, which promised 2 crore employment each year, had created such a mess that crores of youths had lost their jobs.
