Friday, 11 June 2021 | PNS | Ranchi

Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday decided to cancel the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams in the wake of situations arising out of the second wave of Covid-19.

“Today, in view of the circumstances arising out of Covid-19 and the demand of students and parents, I have decided to cancel the 10th and 12th examinations to be conducted by Jharkhand Academic Council in this session,” tweeted the CM on Thursday.

Earlier, after cancellation of Board exams by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Indian Certificate of Secondary Education and various examination boards of different States and the Centre the Jharkhand Government had decided to take the feedback of teachers for conducting the matriculation and intermediate examinations. With the surge in corona cases in the month of April, the Jharkhand Academic Council had decided to postpone the examination.

The CM had also sought feedback from parents on conducting matriculation and intermediate examinations, after which a large number of parents and guardians, including students, have been demanding to cancel the examinations.
