Jamshedpur girl makes it to finale

Saturday, 06 November 2021 | Parvinder Bhatia | Jamshedpur

Post marriage, while most women decide to hang their boots and take it easy, Jamshedpur-born HR leader in a globally reputed IT organisation, Priyadarshini Nieharika has fulfilled her dream to take part in a beauty pageant and tell the world that it is never too late to live your dream and achieving it.  The starry-eyed girl Nieharika has made it to the grand finale of Mrs India Pride of Nation-2021.

The grand finale of the contest, scheduled on November 13 at Delhi NCR  provides married women with a platform to showcase their beauty, talent, intelligence and compassion.

A former student of Sacred Heart Convent, who feels that her smile is her real asset, went to Mumbai to complete her higher education. “ I always had a dream to walk down the ramp and showcase my talent and when I came to know about this coveted contest, I was really very excited. However, not even in my wildest hand did I think that I would make into the top finalists,” said Nieharika.

While pursuing her academic interests, she never had the chance to take her abilities into the limelight. Now that she has fulfilled all her duties as a daughter, sister and wife, she finally had the time to pursue her dream.

“I owe my success to the values and education I received from my hometown Jamshedpur. My parents are my role models. My husband, my brother and my sister in law motivated me to register for the contest. I think our city gives such values that help us to excel in every field,” she noted.

In fact she is a lesson for women who have forgotten their dreams and are confined to their many roles as career woman, mother, wife, daughter etc. “It is not about participating in a beauty pageant, it is about making time for oneself, chasing dreams and making them come true,” she says with a twinkle in her eye.

Striking a balance between professional and personal life is difficult, especially when both require a hundred per cent attention. "Yes it is difficult. But my family has been very supportive. It took some deep soul-searching for me to understand the importance of both and the balance I needed to create."

With the rounds of the grand finale starting from November 9, she is keeping her fingers crossed. Ask her what the first thing she wants to do after winning the title, she says, “I have always been touched by the way achievers or celebrities are greeted by our school when they visit their alma mater. In the same way, I want to feel a similar kind of love and fan moment by my school too when I visit Jamshedpur next with a crown on my head.”
