A tiger cub found dead on the outskirts of the Achanak Tiger Reserve (ATR) in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur district was killed by a male tiger, an official said on Friday.
The carcass was found in Tingipur forest on Thursday.
A autopsy based on the marks on the cub’s neck suggested that the male tiger crushed the cub, ATR Director S Jagdishan said.
A part of the cub had been eaten by wild animals while the other part was decomposed, he added.
A tiger was found dead in the Bhoramdeo Wildlife Sanctuary in Kabirdham district in November last year.
