Man involved in illegal firearms biz nabbed; 14 firearms, bike recovered

The Khargone police have arrested a person involved in selling firearms illegally across the State and  recovered 14 firearms and bike used to transport illegally; two were arrested from Signur-Retwa road.

The arrested accused was identified as Lathi alias Satwant Singh (20) of Undi Khodri Badwani while Vijay and Tufan Singh Siklikar of Signur escaped from the spot. 

 On 12 October, the police received information that two persons were transporting weapons  illegally  from village Signur on a motorbike to Retwan. Acting on the information, the police team trapped the accused near a nursery between village Retwa and Signur.

After some time, according, two persons on a motor cycle were spotted who tried to escape. The person sitting pillion on the motorcycle escaped from the moving bike while the rider was nabbed by the police.

On checking the bags hanging on the handle of the motorcycle, 12 country made pistols wrapped in cloth and 2 country made pistols were found in it. Also, two half-made indigenous pistols and weapons-making materials were recovered. The police seized a total of 14 weapons and a motor cycle used in the incident.

After the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act. The details of bike would  be investigated.

Details of the firearms would be investigated and the source and customers which the two used to sell the weapons would be searched in the further questioning of the nabbed miscreants.
