A 9-year-old boy missing since February 14 from Maharajganj Tarai locality of Balrampur district was found murdered. His body was recovered from a gunny bag lying near a village pond on Thursday evening.

The police later swung into action and claimed to have arrested two local youths   Vijay Kumar and Mubaraq aka Armaan   on Friday, adding that both had confessed that they killed the boy after sodomy.

According to Station House Officer PN Tewari, the family of the victim informed them that the boy went to see a fair on February 14 and was missing since then. His father had lodged a report of missing. The cops launched a search for the boy and on Thursday they found his body. As the boy was seen with the both accused on the fateful day, the cops picked them up and on being grilled they confessed of taking the boy in the cane fields and strangulated him to death after having unnatural sex.

Both the accused were sent to jail. 

Meanwhile in Agra, a minor girl was kidnapped from a hospital in a movie style. The accused involved in the alleged kidnapping had gone to jail once on similar charge. This time he used a different modus operandi to take away the girl.

The girl, who came to the hospital to take medicine with her aunt, wore a burqa and slipped with the accused very comfortably. The aunt kept waiting in the hospital and after learning about the incident, she lodged a report with the local police.

In the CCTV footage, the girl was seen going with the accused, identified as Mehtab Rana from Meerut, without any stress. Since she is a minor, her acceptance does not matter.

According to the family, the man who abducted her is Mehtab, a resident of Meerut. The family told police that the girl was 17-year-old. Soon after learning of the crime, the cops conducted raids in search of the victim and the accused.

On Thursday, she came from her home in Taraganj area to the Dayalbagh hospital to take medicines with her aunt when the incident took place. The accused even threatened the family through an internet call.

SP (City) Botre Rohan Pramod said the girl's father was a hotel worker. Mehtab Rana also worked in the same hotel. In 2018, he had kidnapped a teenager for the first time. The police had mounted pressure on the family members of Mehtab following which they handed over the teen at the Meerut police station.

The statements were recorded in the court. Based on the statements, police registered an abduction case.

A few months after the incident, the accused again abducted the girl for a second time. The accused was arrested by police on the directions of the High Court at the time. For the third time in the last two years, the accused again abducted the girl.

Surprisingly, Mehtab is married still he lured the victim and took her.

The family members accused the Tajganj police in Agra of not taking the matter seriously. They said that Mehtab was arrested earlier but the cops took no action against the other accused while in the kidnapping for the second time, the statement of the girl was also not recorded before a magistrate.
