MPHA wins first match of Sub-Junior Boys Academy Hockey championship

On the fourth day of the first Sub-Junior Boys Academy National Hockey Championship-2021 being played in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy bagged a spectacular victory in its very first match.

Apart from this, in other matches of the day, Gumanahera Risers and Jai Bharat Hockey Academy won their respective matches. At the same time, the match between Dhyan Chand Hockey Academy and Markandeshwar Hockey Academy ended in a draw.

The championship is being organized under the joint aegis of Hockey India and Sports and Youth Welfare Department at Sai Center Village Gora.

In the day's thrilling match, Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy defeated HAR Hockey Academy 6-2. In the first quarter, HAR captain Sahil scored a field goal to take the lead 1-0. In the second quarter, the players of MP Academy came back with a bang and scored two goals. Jamri Mohammad converted a penalty corner in the 23rd minute of the match.

 However, HAR's Vinay converted a penalty corner in the very next minute to take a 2-1 lead in the match. In the 26th minute of the match, MP Hockey Academy captain Ali Ahmed scored a field goal to level the score 2-2. Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy dominated in the third quarter. Denik Tellum Singh of MP Hockey Academy gave the team the lead by scoring a field goal. In the 40th and 45th minutes of the match, Mohammad Konin Dad scored consecutive goals to increase the team's lead to 5-2.
