Prisoner escapes from RIMS

A dreaded criminal Krishna Mohan Jha (36) escaped from the prisoner ward of RIMS on early Sunday morning which has once again exposed poor police security at RIMS. He was admitted at RIMS on August 27 for treatment owing to stomach and bleeding from nose and he was allocated bed no 12 of the ICU of medicine department. Two police personnel were deployed for his security. But around 4 AM on Sunday he was found missing from his bed. He escaped through the ventilator of the toilet.  Security staffs quickly alerted the police control room but the accused could not be traced. Ranchi SP too came to RIMS for inspection and gave necessary direction to search him.  Officer in-charge of Bariatu police station Sapan Kumar Mahatha said that Jha was arrested in connection with murder and abduction cases lodged at Sukhdeonagar police station. He was arrested in 2016 from Pandara locality.

Karmyog India Foundation cleans Kanke Dam

In continuation of the plantation and cleanliness drive for the last two months, Karmyog India Foundation ran a cleanliness drive in Kanke dam from 6 am to 9 am on Sunday. The representatives of this organisation removed five quintals of water hyacinth spreading in Kanke Dam during the drive. Besides the water hyacinths, other materials such as plastics, Vishwakarma and Ganesh puja materials immersed along with other wastes were removed. The immersion ghat cum Chhat ghat built in the dam was cleaned. The persons engaged in activities were Dr Mamta Jha and P K Ambastha Aashish, Santosh, Saurabh, Asmit, Munna, Sonu, Chhotu and Hani Kachhap. Dr Sangita Jha, secretary of the organisation, appealed to the citizens not to throw materials in poly bags during the immersion of deities.

Research Scholar ‘harassed’ online

Research Scholar and Activist Avanendra Pratap has lodged an FIR with Kanke Police Station against an attempt by some people to defame Pratap and some of his overseas friends on social media platforms like Facebook. As per the complaint, Pratap alleged that baseless remarks were written about him and his friends on the social networking website by some unsocial elements.
