Hanumanganj police nabbed, an imposter who duped an auto-rickshaw driver of his mobile phone by posing as CBI official on Saturday; accused was tracked and nabbed by police.
The nabbed accused identified as Raju Singh who duped auto rickshaw driver Sameer Khan.
In his complaint victim stated that the accused approached him and introduced as CBI official and asked for documents of his auto rickshaw and while he was providing documents accused took mobile phone. After victim provided the mobile phone accused who was having bike bearing registration number MP04QF1587 escaped with the mobile phone.
Police registered a case under sections 420 and 406 of the IPC and started further investigation.
The nabbed accused used to target victims by posing as official of agency.
Meanwhile, Talaiya police have booked a property dealer who duped a 61-year-old man to the tune of Rs 5 lakh in the name of providing shop in a complex at Talaiya area. The police have booked Anwar Baig who duped the victim Anwar-Ul-Hasan.
The accused sold shops at a building in Talaiya area and deal was stuck in the year 2012 with the victim at Rs 5 lakh but victim never provided ownership of the shop and failed to return money.
A complaint was filed regarding the fraud and after completion of the investigation the police have registered a case under section 420 of the IPC.
