In an attempt to prevent Coronavirus infection in rural areas, Ranchi District Administration is focussing on villages. In a review meeting on Monday Ranchi Deputy Commissioner, Chhavi Ranjan said that focus should be on prevention of Covid-19 in urban as well as rural areas.

Ranjan held a review meeting of various cells constituted for the prevention of Covid-19, in which detailed information of the updated status was taken by the DC from the nodal officials of all the cells.

Addressing the officials present during the meeting Ranjan said that the villages will now also have an important role to control Corona infection and control of the infection will be done from the panchayat level.

The DC directed to form a task force at the panchayat level in rural areas, the team will consist of ANM, Sahayika and Sahia. “These teams will go door to door and check the infected areas. Those individuals who have symptoms of corona will have their rapid antigen test done through a team made at the Panchayat level itself,” he added.

“A task force will be formed to distribute home isolation kits at the panchayat level in the district. A similar task force will also be at the block level. At the district level, a task force will be formed under the chairmanship of Ranchi Deputy Development Commissioner,” said Ranjan. He also gave necessary guidelines to the concerned officials for the formation of the task force.

In the last one and a half months, the effect of the work done by the officials and staff day and night has started appearing on the ground, the system is getting better and the situation in the district is looking back on track, but this time is very important, it need to pay more attention so that the Corona infection could be controlled, said Ranjan.

Ranjan also directed to increase the number of beds in the district for the treatment of Corona infected patients. Directing to increase the number of Covid-19 testing in urban and rural areas, he asked for timely submission of block wise reports of Rapid Antigen Test, RT PCR and TruNet Test. Reviewing the Contact Teaching Cell, he instructed the nodal In-Charge to increase the Contact Teaching cell and clear it as soon as possible if there is any backlog.

During the meeting the distribution of medicine kits to Covid patients living in home isolation was also reviewed by the DC. Through telecommunication, he asked about the workings of taking information from patients living in home isolation.

He said timely medical kits should be made available to the patients living in isolation and report it weekly. He also reviewed the works of the cell like IDSP, sample collection, discharge management, bed management, death management, IEC and others and gave necessary guidelines to the concerned nodal officer.
