The TEDxNITRourkelaLive will be organised on Saturday. This virtual event would be streamed live on YouTube from 4 pm to 8 pm.
The theme of the event is “The Case for Optimism” in today’s dynamic world, a positive attitude is essential. The drive to hope for and create a better future leads to phenomenal ideas being born out of necessity, shaping the face of the present and, subsequently, humanity’s destiny.
TEDxNITRourkelaLive aims to create hope for what lies ahead and convey the stories that have crossed the barriers of time and imbibe in you the spirit to make a change.
Speakers from varying fields will present short, powerful talks, covering all the topics relevant to the present.
The speakers include Zach King, an eminent internet personality, a filmmaker and an illusionist; Jamil Zaki, a professor at Stanford University and the director of the Stanford Social Neuroscience Lab; Isha Datar, Executive Director of New Harvest; Steven Johnson, a recipient of Newhouse School’s fourth annual Mirror Awards for his TIME magazine cover article; Jennifer Aaker and Naomi Bagdonas, psychologists and professors at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
The other speakers are Pardis Parker, an award-winning director, writer, actor, and comedian; Jenny Scheinman, a singer, fiddle player and songwriter; Nels Cline, best known as the lead guitarist in the band Wilco; Text Box: NELS CLINE:Todd Sickafoose, an American jazz and rock musician, composer, and producer.
TEDxNITRourkelaLive is being organised by a group of passionate students from NIT Rourkela with a drive to promote innovative and revolutionary ideas, in line with the TED mission- Ideas Worth Sharing.
