Transporters in Chhattisgarh will observe June 28 as a 'Black Day' and ply their vehicles with black flags, the All India Transport Congress Chhattisgarh announced on Sunday.
It leader Sukhdev Singh said the transporters will take out a rally in all districts and hand over memorandums to the Collectors. The memorandum urges the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister and others to roll back the diesel price hike.
Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Transport Federation (Raipur) President S. Anwar Ali said the protest is against the hike in diesel prices. Bus operators have already demanded a hike in bus fares. If the demand is not met, the bus operators will withdraw the services.
