Two minors gang-raped, blackmailed in Kannauj

In a sensational incident reported from Kannauj, two girls were allegedly held hostage and gang-raped in a cyber cafe when they went there to get some documents photocopied.

 

Police said on Monday that four men took the two girl students hostage at the cyber cafe on September 13 and gang-raped them and one of the accused also recorded the act. The accused also extorted Rs 10,000 from the girls by threatening to circulate the video.

 

Superintendent of Police Prashant Verma said a case was registered at Sadar Kotwali on Sunday against six people, including a woman, based on the complaint of one of the girls.

 

The 17-year-old student in her complaint said she had gone to the cyber cafe along with her friend at noon on September 13 when four people, who were already present there, raped them.

 

One of the accused also made a video of the act and handed it over to his brother-in-law who extorted Rs 10,000 by threatening to make it viral, police said.

 

The girl said she and her friend stole money from their houses to give it to the accused, the police said. It was the missing money which alerted their family members after which the incident came to light, they said.

 

The girls were sent to the district hospital for medical examination.

 

Police were raiding all possible places, the SP said, adding in the initial investigation, the police found signs of prostitution from the cyber cafe.

 

The victim had said that after the incident, the wife of one of the accused made her phone calls, pressurising her into prostitution and some neighbours had also spoken about presence of young girls there, the SP said, adding that efforts were on to nab the accused.

 

Meanwhile, in a brutal killing, the body of a youth was found in the Dadiyamau area of Fatehpur Kotwali in Barabanki district on Monday morning.

 

The victim was brutally beaten by some blunt object and the accused escaped after the youth succumbed to his injuries.

 

On Monday morning, the body of the youth was found lying on the side of the road covered in blood. The police reached after getting the information and started investigating the case by sending the body for post-mortem.

 

According to the police, the victim, Ajay Kumar Verma (35) son of Ramchandra of village Dadiyamau of Kotwali area, had left the house on Sunday evening after taking Rs 500 from his father. When he did not return home till late in the night, the family members and villagers started searching for him. On Monday morning, the body of Ajay Verma was found lying in a pool of blood on the Nandanakala Dadiyagau contact road. There were injury marks on the head of the deceased.

 

A case was registered and further investigations were on to identify the killers and arrest them.
