Director of Urban Administration, Urban Development and Housing Department, Vijaya Jadhav, directed to complete pending houses under PMAY (Urban) in a review meeting here on Thursday.

Jadhav inquired about geo-tagging of houses and payment of amount, starting non-starter houses without delay and increasing the number of completed houses.

The Director held the meeting through video conferencing with Municipal Commissioners, Executive Officers, City Managers and CLTC experts of all the Municipal Bodies of the State.

Detailed review was done and necessary instructions were given. The main subject of the review was to report to the Directorate after completing the pending houses within a month. “I still have about 20,000 houses on the lintel and roof stage in the State, which has been directed to be completed within a month,” she said.

Jadhav directed all the bodies to pay the pending installments of the beneficiaries and after geo-tagging of the houses; they were also directed to make the payment within three days. In the light of the instructions of the Finance Department of the State Government, the SNA Accounting System has been implemented in the State. Through this, all the Municipal Bodies through the Zero Balance Accounting System, the DBT in the account of the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) is being paid directly through PFMS, she added.

“About 3000 old houses are still in the non-starter stage in the State bodies, on which the Director expressed his displeasure and directed all the beneficiaries of non-starter housing to organize camps and motivate them to start housing. Clearly instructed the bodies that the extradition of residences will not be accepted by the Government of India under any circumstances,” said Jadhav.

The Director said that according to the instructions of the Chief Minister, ‘Apki Sarkar Apke Dwar’ provide information about PM Awas Yojana to the targeted beneficiaries in your door program. Along with this, the officials should motivate the citizens in the camp for the houses being built under the affordable housing project. The women are being given housing ownership under PM Awas Yojana,” said the Director.

Jadhav clarified that in the bodies where progress is slow even after repeated instructions, the city managers and CLTC experts are being given the last opportunity; otherwise action will be taken to terminate their contract. “Even the housing construction is not being started, so action should be taken to refund the amount from the beneficiaries, otherwise the amount will be recovered from the salary of the nodal officer there,” she added.
