We now have the weapon against coronavirus: Singh Deo

‘‘We now have the weapon against coronavirus. With precaution, we have to end this pandemic," Chhattisgarh Health Minister T.S. Singh Deo declared on Saturday.

Singh Deo visited Pt JLN Memorial Hospital and met health workers who received Covid vaccine on the first day of the Covid vaccination drive, a press release said.

“We now have the weapon against coronavirus. By following rules and with precaution, we have to end this pandemic. The vaccine is completely safe and it has been certified by scientists,” he said.

No one should hesitate in taking it, the Minister added.

"If there are any side effects, then under proper medical observation and care they will be resolved. I am also waiting for my turn to get the vaccine," he said.

He also met Padma Shri Dr A.T. Dabke, who had voluntarily come to get the vaccine. He inquired about his health.

On the occasion, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Renu Pillai and Director National Health Mission Dr Priyanka Shukla were present.

The Covid vaccination was held in five places in Raipur district including AIIMS Raipur, Pt JLN Memorial Medical College Raipur, NHMMI Hospital Raipur, District Hospital Raipur and Mission Hospital Tilda.
