Woman’s urinary bladder ‘removed’ in G’pati

In a shocking incident in Gajapati district, the urinary bladder of a woman was allegedly removed or destroyed by the doctor engaged in family planning operation.

 The woman Bhagyalaxmi Gauda had given birth to a male child four months back and was admitted for family planning surgery at the Chandragiri Community Health Centre (CHC) on March 15.

During the course of surgery, her urinary tube was destroyed. Since last six days, she is suffering for urinary complications, alleged her family members.

When asked, the CHC Medical Officer denied any mistake on the part of the doctor concerned.

He rather admitted that in some cases urinary tubes get affected. The CDMO also defended the doctor. However, locals have protested against the alleged medical negligence.
