Woman charred to death after house catches fire

In a tragic incident in Sitapur, a 22-year-old woman was burnt alive while her husband and 4-year-old daughter were seriously injured when fire broke out in their house late on Tuesday night. The injured were shifted to a hospital while the police registered a case and started a probe into the matter.
As per reports, Dileep Jaiswal’s wife Damini Devi (22) of Bajhera hamlet of Manpur in Sitapur was cooking food late Tuesday night while her daughter was playing nearby.  Meanwhile, a spark from the earthen stove fell on Damini’s saree which caught fire. As she tried to douse it, it spread across the kitchen lighting up inflammable articels kept there before spreading in the entire house.  On noticing the fire, Dileep raised an alarm and tried to rescue his wife in which he and his daughter, suffered burns. Locals somehow doused the fire and shifted the injured to hospital where doctors pronounced Damini dead upon arrival.  Her body was sent for autopsy and investigations were on.
Meanwhile, in a late Tuesday night clash between two groups in Badaun, one person was killed while another was seriously injured. The police later arrested two persons in this regard.
As per reports, Shakir (30) of Nanakheda hamlet of Bilsi had gone to Kulheta village on Tuesday night.  As Shakir was having some dispute with a resident of Kulheta, he was surrounded by the opposite party and shot dead. Later Shakir’s kin also rushed to the scene and clashed with the perpetrators in which one from the opposite party was seriously injured after suffering bullet injuries.
Upon learning of the strife, SP of Badaun Sankalp Sharma rushed to the scene with heavy police force and arrested two persons. The injured were shifted to a hospital and efforts were underway to nab the absconding accused. Sensing tension in the village, a heavy police force was patrolling the area to avert any fresh violence.
