The Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply departments are throwing open job opportunities and will appoint 600 junior engineers in the month of July.
The departments will complete the process of recruitment of 600 engineers on contractual basis this month.
“Preparations are underway to give appointment letters to the selected candidates this month,” Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh said here on Monday.
Singh said, "We are moving forward with the resolve to provide employment to everyone. Every unit of the Jal Shakti department is making efforts in this direction. By using technology, we are making the process of recruitment and transfers transparent."
Principal Secretary (Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply) Anurag Srivastava said for the first time recruitments in this department would be made online. “Instructions are to keep the recruitment process 100 per cent computer-based and to give appointment letters to the selected candidates in the next 15 days,” Srivastava said.
The recruitment of junior engineers has been started under which 525 civil and 75 electrical/mechanical posts will be filled. A total of 7,930 candidates have applied for the post of junior engineer (civil) while 2,570 candidates have applied for the post of junior engineer electrical/mechanical.
Executive director of the department, Priya Ranjan Kumar, said, “The recruitment process is completely transparent as it is being monitored at a high level."
The junior engineers recruited on contractual basis will get a salary of Rs 30,000 per month. They will be deployed in different districts of the state as per the requirement. They will also be given posting in desired districts.
