Some TV channels which narrated Duti Chand to be a girl from Rajasthan have also done the same thing in the case of Odia singer Avilipsa Panda, a girl from Deogarh district.

Recently, Avilipsa has gained huge popularity for her devotional song ‘Har Har Sambhu’. First, she sang it on April 27 this year. The song was so sweet, sonorous and heart-touching that the viewers have crossed more than seven crores as of today.

But some national channels telecast that Farmani Naaz is the real singer of the devotional song. They also telecast the interview of Farmani on it that hurt sentiments of the Odia people here since they never heard this song before Avilipsa.

“The whole intention of the national channels is to twist the truth and give credit to some other than the real singer of the song,” alleged Tarpan Kumar Pradhan, an artist cum singer, and many others too. “Not only are the national channels propagating lies, but also they are suppressing the truth since they can’t tolerate the popularity of an Odia girl,” added Pradhan.

However, Avilipsa’s father, Ashok Kumar Panda, while contacted, said: “I don’t want to comment on this issue. It is a matter of credit for us that my daughter has brought laurels to the State through her extraordinary talents and devotion to Lord Siva Sambhu. The Lord will judge those who spread lies.”
