The Special Court on Wednesday acquitted 6 accused in the Rs 3,000 crore e-tender scam in Madhya Pradesh. The court acquitted the accused saying that the prosecution had failed to prove its charges.
The hearing of the Madhya Pradesh e-tender scam case was going on in the court of Special Judge Sandeep Kumar Srivastava. In this case OSD of Madhya Pradesh Electronic Development Corporation Nand Kishore Brahme, Director of Osmo IT Solution Varun Chaturvedi, Vinay Chaudhary, Sumit Gowalkar, Director of Antares Company Manohar MN and Bhopal businessman Manish Khare were accused.
The EOW had presented a challan against the accused in the court. Advocate Prashant Harne, who appeared in the court on behalf of Brahme, said that after hearing 35 witnesses, the court acquitted all the six accused. The court while giving its verdict said that the prosecution could not prove the charges against the accused.
Notably, the e-tender scam took place in 2018. In this the FIR was registered in 2019. In the e-tender scam of about 3 thousand crores, 3 tenders of Madhya Pradesh Jal Nigam Limited, 2 of Public Works Department, 2 of Water Resources Department, one of Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation, one of Public Works was done by tampering with the procurement portal as per the evidence and technical investigation.
The matter of tampering in the software of a total of 9 tenders of the PIU (Project Implementation Unit) of the department had come to the fore. In this case, the EOW had registered an FIR after the analysis report of the hard disk. After this, the hearing of the case was going on in the court.
