Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Saturday said the Real Estate Appellate Tribunal is an important forum to protect the interests of consumers vis-a-vis the real estate sector.
The more the transparency and fewer disputes in the real estate sector, the faster will be the growth of the sector, he said.
Baghel was speaking after inaugurating a new building of the Tribunal at Moulshree Vihar Colony, Raipur, virtually here. At the venue, Justice Sharad Kumar Gupta, Chairman of the Tribunal, cut the ribbon.
Baghel said the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA), Chhattisgarh, and now the Tribunal have been constituted under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016. The aim is to resolve disputes related to the real estate sector.
He said the parties aggrieved by the decision of RERA or the Adjudicating Authority can make an appeal before the Tribunal.
There is a consumer on one side and builders-colonizers on the other in the real estate sector. Both have their own interests. It is the responsibility of the government to protect the interests of both. More the transparency and fewer disputes, the sector will grow.
The Chief Minister said that during the last three-and-a-half years, despite all kinds of challenges, every sector in the state registered growth, including the real estate sector. A beautiful house is every person's wish.
The real estate sector is being encouraged by giving concessions and facilities, he said. It is part of continuous efforts at the government level to fulfill the housing needs of the people through various schemes.
