Balangir MP Sangeeta Singh Deo has condemned the resolution passed by the Orissa High Court Bar Association which has urged the HC Chief Justice not to give his consent for establishment of any HC Bench anywhere in the State.
“The resolution of High Court Bar Association is shocking, condemnable and regrettable. Government of India is trying parity and development in west and south Odisha. But the (HC) Bar Association is going against the Jaswant Singh Commission’s recommendation,” said Singh Deo in a tweet.
Balangir District Bar Association president Amarish Tripathy also denounced the HC Bar Association’s resolution.
“We demand setting up of a High Court Bench at Balangir. People of Balangir have been demanding it since last 50 years. A delegation of the Bolangir Bar Association will meet the Chief Justice of High Court to appraise him about our demand. We will also meet the Chief Minister on this issue,” Tripathy told reporters here on Friday.
