BJP targets Govt of ‘financial mismanagement’

Friday, 28 January 2022 | PNS | Ranchi

Describing the JMM/Congress government as the worst government in the country, state BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash today said that the present government came to power by making false promises to people and even today the coalition government is misleading people.

Addressing a press conference in the state office, Prakash said that the alliance government is misleading people by repeatedly making false allegations against the Centre. This government has been making false allegations of tax transfer and grant-in-aid on the Center, while the truth is different.

The BJP MP reading out figures said that between 2009 and 2014, the UPA government transferred Rs 35,998 crore to Jharkhand and gave grants-in-aid of Rs 21,069 crore.

In contrast, between 2014 and 2019, under the NDA government, Rs 89,648 crore was transferred to Jharkhand as tax collection while Rs 44,641 crore grant-in-aid was provided to the state.

Overall, there was an increase in tax transfers by 149.04% between 2009-14 and 2014-19, while there was an increase in grants-in-aid by 111.88%.

Between 2019 and 2022, the central government transferred Rs 62,315 crore as tax collection and gave 45,362 crore grant-in-aid to Jharkhand which indicates that money has been given to the JMM/Congress government rather than the BJP government.

He said that the present government has become a victim of financial mismanagement. The Chief Minister and the Finance Minister, who failed to spend the budget money, are resorting to lies. Prakash said that even during the Corona period, the present government left the people in God's mercy. Food grains kept on rotting but were not even distributed to the public.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana during the Corona period, 16,14,620 MT of food grains and 44,593 MT of pulses and gram were allocated for about 2 crore 47 lakh beneficiaries from April 2020 to November 20 and from May 2021 to October 21. At the same time, 1,776 MT of food grains and grams were given to 1,43,436 migrant beneficiaries.

Nevertheless, due to the carelessness of the state government during the Corona period, people were forced to sleep hungry and die hungry.

He said that JMM/Congress are running the government on the basis of lies. The Prime Minister's dream is to have pure water in every household, but the state government has proved ineffective even in the Jal Jeevan Mission. Less than 10 percent people have got the benefit of this scheme. The money went back.

The result of the failure of the state government is that 9 backward districts in India include the districts of Jharkhand.

At the same time, Prakash said that from April to September 2020, Rs 375.20 crore was allocated under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. While 12,88,850 lakh beneficiaries were given benefits under the National Social Assistance Program.

84,58,602 people have been enrolled under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana of Rs 2 lakh. On the other hand, 9,77,043 subscribers have been enrolled under Atal Pension Yojana. Those who get a pension of Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000.
