CJM, JMFC Courts demanded in Paradip

The NOC Foundation has demanded for establishment of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) and Judicial Magistrate of First Class (JMFC) Courts in Paradip for the benefit of common people.

 

In this connection, a delegation led by NOC Foundation State coordinator Sailendri Senapati on Tuesday submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister through the ADM's office in Paradip seeking the establishment of the courts.

 

According to Major Ports Act of India, every port in the country must have a Chief Judicial Magistrate Court to produce the accused of prohibited area of the port. But accused persons arrested within prohibited area of the Paradip Port area being produced at the CJM court situated at Jagatsinghpur 60 km away from Paradip.

 

Five police stations are there at Paradip and the accused persons of the police stations are being forwarded to JMFC (P) Kujang, which is 30 km far from Paradip.
