CM launches ‘Vajra’ for teachers

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday laid the foundation stone for a teachers’ training centre at Samant Vihar here on the occasion of the foundation day of the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas.

 

The centre, to be set up at a cost of Rs 25 crore, would consist of a auditorium with a capacity to train 300 teachers, accommodation facility for 200 teachers and 10 workshop centres.

 

The CM also launched a ‘Vajra’ scheme for welfare of teachers, under which the teachers would provide one day’s salary for their welfare fund. During times of distress, assistance would be provided from the fund to the teachers.

 

On the occasion, five top Adarsha Vidyalayas of the State and five students who had excelled in different streams were awarded.
