Gandhinagar police have arrested 23-year-old murder accused who killed his sister-in-law at Pratap Ward on Sunday; accused was annoyed over suspicion by the deceased.
On Sunday Gandhi Nagar police received information of a woman near Gandhi Nagar drain, who had murdered and body was covered by leaves.
In the investigation deceased was identifid as Shabana, a resident of Gandhi Nagar and she was murdered by her brother-in-law Sheikh Asif with whom she used to live in a live-in relationship. After a preliminary investigation, a case under section 302,201 of the IPC was registered.
In view of the seriousness of the matter, a reward of Rs 10,000 was announced by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone-4 on the accused Sheikh Asif. A team was formed and started an investigation.
During the investigation police found that there was a dispute between Shabana and Asif regarding Asif's character, in which Asif strangulated Shabana to death with a dupatta and with the aim of hiding the dead body dumped it near drain and escaped the spot.
The accused was with a friend near Gairatganj, police arrested the accused from Gairatganj and came to the police station and inquired about the crime, the accused accepted to commit his crime.
