Heavy rains again lash the State capital on Saturday

After a little pause on Friday heavy rainfall was witnessed in the evening on Saturday in the state capital while several regions are witnessing spells of heavy rainfall.

Some relief from the clouds, the sun came out, the temperature also increased on Friday, there was some respite from heavy rain and clouds. The day temperature increased due to sunlight recorded at 29.5 degrees. In the afternoon, there were showers in some parts of the state capital. The night temperature was recorded at 23.8 degree Celsius.

Under the heavy rainfall conditions water leakage is increasing after the leakage in the dam being built on the Karam river between Bharudpura and Kothida in Dhar. The soil on one side of the dam was washed away on Friday morning. Due to this a large part of the wall of the dam collapsed.

Sensing danger and to safeguard loss of lives and property the administration has evacuated 18 villages around the dam. These include 12 villages of Dhar district and 6 villages of Khargone. About 40 thousand people have been affected by this. Narmada, Shipra, Betwa, Tapti have reached the danger mark.

According to the Meteorological Department, a new low pressure area is forming in the Bay of Bengal from August 13. Due to this, there may be heavy rain in the state and apart from this, from Sunday good rainfall would be witnessed in Bhopal, Raisen, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Sehore, Shivpuri, Datia, Umaria, Anuppur, Katni, Dindori, Balaghat, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singaurli, Chhatarpur, Sagar, Tikamgarh, Panna, Damoh and Niwari.
