Maya concern over falling rupee

Sunday, 25 September 2022 | PNS | Lucknow

Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati attacked the government over the continuous devaluation of Indian rupee in the international market.

Mayawati said in her tweet on Saturday that even though the continuous fall of the Indian rupee in the world market may not be directly related to the prestige of the government and people should not be worried about it, but due to this the country’s economy crumbles and morale also breaks down. She said the government should not take lightly the devaluation of the rupee like inflation, poverty, unemployment.

She further said that the news of the foreign exchange reserves coming down to a two-year low was also in the headlines. She said the Reserve Bank of India and all others were worried and distraught about this therefore, there was a need to take quick effective steps in this direction instead of getting entangled in allegations and counter allegations of wrong economic policies and priorities of the government.
