Expressing concern over the ever-increasing gap between rich and poor in the country, former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh and Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati said the private capital of industrialists in the country was increasing due to the grace of the government.
Mayawati tweeted on Saturday and said, "Due to the unprecedented increase in the private capital of the industrialists of India due to the grace of the government, they are now counted among the rich people of the world, but there is little in the life of about 130 crore poor and low income families in the country. The lack of improvement is a matter of great concern. How will the government bridge this gap?”
The BSP supremo also termed the devaluation of the rupee as a very sensitive issue and said that the foreign exchange reserves were also depleting continuously. She asked what could be the role of industrialists in handling this situation.
"The relentless fall in the value of the Indian rupee is a stingingly sensitive issue. The news of the continuous decrease in the foreign exchange reserves of the country is now disturbing the people. In such a situation, what is the role of industrialists and wealthy people here in handling the Indian economy, the country is interested to know,” she said in another tweet.
