Now, video of Jain eating outside food in jail leaked

Thursday, 24 November 2022 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

Days after a CCTV video of AAP leader Satyendar Jain getting a massage in a Tihar Jail cell went viral a new purported video of the Minister having an elaborate meal inside prison has emerged. The latest CCTV footage shows Jain eating the meal in the same cell where he was earlier seen receiving the massage. A person comes and serves him food and also places a dustbin near him. Many disposable boxes can be seen on the bed.

Tihar Jail sources said that Jain gained 8 kg weight during his time in jail, contrary to his lawyer’s claims of him having lost 28 kgs. The AAP is already facing flak over videos of Jain getting massage inside prison.

Sharing the latest video, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said after getting 'champi' from a 'rapist' whom they tries to pass off as a physiotherapist, now another video shows Jain being served outside food. “One more video from media! After taking maalish from rapist & calling him PHYSIO therapist, Satyendra Jain can be seen enjoying sumptuous meal! Attendants serve him food as if he is in a resort on vacation!” “Kejriwal ji ensured that hawalabaaz gets VVIP maza not saza!,” Poonawalla said. He added, “Jain is being served outside food by two attendants as if he is in a resort or restaurant and there is a variety of delicacies and dishes in front him, as if he is not there for saza (punishment) of corruption, but maza (fun) of massage and restaurant food.”

"Kejriwal must answer why Jain who has been in jail for the last 5 months is being given this facility — by keeping him in the Minister’s post — to take 'vasooli' from Sukesh, ‘maalish’ from a rapist and now outside food," Poonawalla said.

Reacting to the latest food video leak, Jain's lawyer said they are considering legal options. “We will bring this video to the notice of the judge. We will surely do something about this today,” the lawyer said adding that AAP leaders have seen the video.

Reacting on the latest video, former Puducherry Governor Kiran Bedi said that if Jain is getting “special treatment” , then it’s the prison administration’s fault. "It is prison administration's fault... it reports to the political system. How will they take action when their own Minister is jailed? If rules permit… Lieutenant-Governor (VK Saxena) can recommend suspension or dismissal...," she added.

Later, addressing a press conference, Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi said Jain is enjoying facilities akin to a holiday resort inside Tihar Jail.  Shameless actions of leaders like Jain getting massage by a rape accused, are being noted by the people. “AAP leaders say something and behave exactly opposite to it. There are prison manual rules for food and medical services in jail. Added facilities like television, packed food and massage in Jain's cell show as if he is in some holiday resort," she said. Lekhi also hit out at Kejriwal and accused him of "failing" to solve the problems of Delhi and instead campaigning in poll-bound states for AAP's expansion to achieve his aim of becoming Prime Minister.
