The Odisha Biodiversity Board (OBB) celebrated the International Day for Biological Diversity here on Sunday to spread a message “Building a shared future for all life”, the theme announced by the United Nation Secretariat of Convention on Biological Diversity for this year.
Odisha Real Estate Regulatory Authority Chairperson and former Director General of Forests, Government of India, Siddhanta Das inaugurated the function. Former Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of the Forest Force, Government of Odisha, Dr Sandeep Tripathy was cuest of honour.
OBB Chairman Rajiv Kumar briefed about the board’s various activities towards the implementation of the Biological Diversity Act 2002.
A video on “Biological Diversity of Odisha”, books on “Brachyuran Crabs of Devi Estuary” and “Banyajantu Parichalanara Bistruta Margadarshika” were released.
