PGIMER conducts Public health management program for Senior Officials of 13 countries

The Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh raised the curtain of ‘first of its kind in global health sector’ five-day 15th E- International Public Health Management Development Program (IPHMDP) in support of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Program under the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India from August 22 to August 26, 2022 through an online platform (Zoom). ‘Every year the program was conducted physically where participants from across the globe visit the host country (India) to attend the program. Even in the pandemic era when such physical meetings are prohibited, we managed to organize such programs. The program was conceptualized in the year 2016 and had trained over 725 participants from over 75 countries and almost all states of India since then’, Professor Sonu Goel, Program Director and Professor of Health Management, PGIMER, said during the virtual inaugural ceremony. A total of 28 senior-level participants from 13 countries namely Bangladesh, Cambodia, Egypt, Ghana, Iraq, Maldives, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Somalia, South Sudan, and Sri Lanka have registered for this program. “This program aims to enhance the skills and competencies of middle and senior-level program managers in Communication for addressing public health challenges and strengthening the efficiency of organizations in resource-constrained settings,” he added.
