Amid the lockdown in the country, while transportation activities are restricted to some extent, but smuggling of liquor are still going on. A case of smuggling of illegal liquor has been revealed on Sunday at Gaya railway station within limits of Eastern Central Railway (ECR).
The RPF, Gaya has seized 72 bottles of foreign liquor from the Dhanbad Dehri Intercity Express train on the Gaya- Mugalsarai train section of Eastern Central Railway
According to the information received by Inspector Railway Protection Force on Sunday morning huge quantities of liquor boxes were seized from the D12 coach of the Dhanbad Dehri Intercity Express train.
In this issue, RPF Sub Inspector Gaya railway station Punam Kumari has said that a special team has been formed to take action against liquor traders, the task of this team is mainly to check the trains traveling from Jharkhand to Bihar.
During checking the special team has discovered an alcohol bottle in unclaimed conditions from the Compartment of the train. In this issue, the police have registered an FIR against unknown smugglers and its investigation has been started.
It is also being said that the SHO has said that the seized liquor was manufactured in Haryana , in which the classic 72 bottles of 375 mL, of Imperial blue was found.
Sub Inspector Punam Kumari of RPF Gaya said that in the same sequence while checking the various coaches of the said train, in the order of checking in coach number D12, on top of the luggage rack of the passengers, four different colored baggies were kept, in respect of which the surrounding.
On asking the passengers sitting in the seat, no one accepted their ownership, after that the said bag was checked by dropping it on platform number 01, understanding the witnesses present, then 72 bottles of Imperial Blue foreign liquor, each 375ml and all foreign liquor bottles But on batch number-IBF0036 dt-02.12.21 and all of them were raided for sale only in the state of Jharkhand, the foreign liquor recovered in all the above said bag was confiscated by making a confiscation list in front of the witnesses present and written for further legal action.
GRP went with the complaint letter. In connection with the above, case no-27/22, dated-16/01/22, U/S- 30(a)Bihar prohibition and excise act 2018, has been registered in the Government Railway Police Station Gaya. The estimated value of liquor was found to be Rs 23,760.
