Police seize Rs 61 lakh cash of PLFI chief Dinesh Gope

Ranchi Police seized Rs 61 lakh extortion amount from the possession of a PLFI operative whom police arrested on Sunday from the heart of Ranchi. This is one of the biggest successes of Ranchi police against the PLFI and its chief Dinesh Gope.

A few days back Ranchi SSP Surendra Kumar Jha had headed a successful operation against PLFI where three PFI operatives with two costly SUVs, cash, and jungle warfare accessories like sleeping bags and tents to stay in the forest area. Besides, arrests, in the last week Ranchi police have made a seizure of cash and money worth over Rs two crore from PLFI.   It was revealed that PLFI extremists were using high-end vehicles to dodge police from detecting them. Both SUVs of BMW and Thar make are worth over Rs one crore. These vehicles bear registration number of Uttar Pradesh and Punjab. The arrested accused were identified as Amirchand Kumar (Dhurwa), besides Arya Kumar Singh and Ujjwal Kumar Sahu alias Lipu from Khunti. During the questioning, the accused revealed that a huge amount has been extorted as levy on name of Dinesh Gope. They said that one Nivesh Kumar who absconded during raid manages levy and investment on behalf of Gope.

They said that many PLFI operatives live Dhurwa area and work for Gope. 

They revealed name of two others namely Dhruwa Singh, and Shubham Kumar who are  active PLFI operatives. Police said that investigation has disclosed a well-organized network of PLFI active in Ranchi. Now Ranchi police have decided to seek their police remand to smash the network of PLFI.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that they were using high-end vehicles to extort levy and transport arms and ammunition and supply other logistic items to Dinesh Gope. The seizure alerted police about the new strategy being adopted by the Dinesh Gope and PLFI to sustain and evade police operations against PLFI.

Police recovered seven-layered seven sleeping bags that can keep a person warm even at -30 degrees Celsius temperature. As many as 15 high-quality tents were also recovered from their possession. The arrested accused said that these were meant to be used in forest area by PLFI rebels.  These tents can protect from wild animals also.
