A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed today between SAIL-RDCIS, Ranchi & IIT(ISM), Dhanbad and for collaboration on application of Nano-Technology in Rolling Process. This agreement was signed by Shri P.Pathak, CGM(Rolling) from SAIL, Ranchi and Prof. Sagar Pal, Dean(R&D) from IIT(ISM) side. Later the team interacted with N. Banerjee, ED(RDCIS). Banerjee opined that Nano-Lubrication will reduce energy consumption during the rolling process. Also he urged to focus on supporting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Startups of Jharkhand.
The IIT(ISM) team comprised Prof Sagar Pal, Prof. A R Dixit, HOD (Mech Engg), Prof. R K Gangwar, Asso. Dean (R&D) and Prof. SK Ghosh, Principal Investigator from IIT(ISM). From SAIL's side N. Pradhan, CGM(C,E&E), Sanjoy Parida, CGM (Automation), Dr. Vinod Kumar, CGM (Products), S. Goswami, CGM (Iron), P. Pathak, CGM (Rolling), S.K. Jha, GM & HOG (Shape Rolling), Dr. S. Rath, GM & Head (Flat Rolling & Tribology) and other senior executives were present during the signing event.
