Social media brings saviour to donate blood

Wednesday, 25 May 2022 | PNS | BRAHMAPUR

While social media is known sometimes for all bad reasons, on a few occasions it comes out as saviour of the distressed also.

In a strange but real instance, one Balaram Mahini of Chakapad village in Kalahandi district was undergoing treatment in the MKCG Medical College Hospital here. He was critically ill suffering from piles and doctors said he badly needed blood to save his life. Balaram’s family members made all-out efforts to get A+ (positive) blood but in vain.

In view of the family’s anxiety, some social activists posted Blaram’s case in social media; and seeing this, one Siva Gantagharia came to the hospital as an angel and donated blood for Balaram. Balaram got a second life; and he and his family conveyed their gratefulness to Siva and the social activists for this noble gesture.
