Take action against those without mask

Saturday, 15 January 2022 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

Determined to check the spread of Covid-19, Raipur District Collector Saurabh Kumar on Friday asked all nodal officers to initiate stern action against people on the streets without face masks.

Legal action should also be initiated against persons not following the home-isolation guidelines despite suffering from the infection, he said,

With a further surge in Covid-19 positive cases in Raipur district, the Collector stated this at a review meeting.

Kumar called for action against employees who skip duty when deputed to control and prevent Covid-19.

With an increasing number of patients, nodal officers need to monitor and ensure hospitalization or home-isolation. Those preferring home isolation should register with www.home isolation.cgcovid19.in.

Medicines to such patients are delivered at their homes.

Special care should be taken for contact tracing. He said at present 94 per cent of the beds in government and private hospitals are vacant.

An adequate number of doctors, nurses, medicines and oxygen cylinders should be ensured in dedicated hospitals and Covid care centres.

The meeting discussed in detail home isolation, micro-containment zone, contact tracing, status of oxygen availability in hospitals, testing of persons arriving from outside the state and other districts, and availability of bed and medicines in government hospitals.
