BJP making mockery of governance: says Akhilesh Yadav

Tuesday, 24 January 2023 | PNS | Lucknow

Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav flayed the Yogi Adityanath government, alleging that the Bharatiya Janata Party had made mockery of governance and false claims were being made in the cover of Global Investors’ Summit.

Yadav, who is also the leader of opposition in the UP assembly, said the BJP government in UP had done nothing in the last six years except claiming credit on the development projects completed during the SP government.

“People of Uttar Pradesh are paying a heavy cost due to the inertia and inefficiency of the Yogi Adityanath government as no entrepreneur is interested in investing in Uttar Pradesh, yet tall claims of investment are being made by the government,” Akhilesh Yadav said.

“The Global Investors’ Summit is being organised here to mislead the people. Several investors’ summits were held earlier also but to no avail. Failing to attract investment, the Yogi Adityanath government has come out with a new idea of ``Global Investors’ Summit’’. Failing to get firm commitment from foreign investors, the UP government is now scouting for investors in all 75 districts of the state,” Akhilesh Yadav said.

The SP chief said the Yogi Adityanath government had nothing to showcase as its achievement to the foreign and domestic investors. He said several projects like the international standard Ekana Stadium, Gomti Riverfront; Agra- Lucknow Expressway and IT City were initiated and completed during the SP government.

Alleging vendetta by the BJP government, Akhilesh Yadav claimed that but for the vendetta politics of the BJP government, JP International Convention Centre would have been completed and could be the ideal venue for the Global Investors’ Summit.
