HP Governor calls on Prime Minister

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Sunday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at New Delhi. In his courtesy call, the Governor discussed various developmental issues pertaining to the hill state with the Prime Minister.

Every dept, region, class taken care of in State Budget: Khattar

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday said that on February 23, 2023, as the Finance Minister, he presented the State Budget for the financial year 2023-24. Keeping in mind the growth and welfare of every department, every sector, and every class, new schemes have been announced on which work will start from April 1. Khattar said that the process of recruitment in government jobs would be expedited.

Employee Unions submitted memorandum to Centre through ASG Jain

Chandigarh: Representatives of various employee unions on Sunday submitted a memorandum to former MP and Additional Solicitor General of India Satya Pal Jain in the name of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and expressed anger against the Chandigarh Administration for not implementing the Central Pay Scale even about a year after its announcement. Notably, Union Home Minister had, on March 27 last year, announced the implementation of Central Pay Scale and Service Rules for Chandigarh employees with the issuance of notification on March 29, 2022.

Half Marathon on Mar 5

Chandigarh: A Half Marathon will be held to mark International Women’s Day on March 5, wherein cash prizes of up to Rs one lakh will be given to the winners. Unveiling the Half Marathon’s ‘T-Shirt’ at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Chandigarh campus, its director Prof Dr Jaskiran Kaur said: “The women’s day run will have three categories - Half Marathon (21.1 km), Mighty (10 km), and Fun Run (5 km) for men and women participants with half marathon to be a tribute to ‘women power’ and will mark International Women’s Day in a befitting manner.”

100 examined in health checkup camp

Chandigarh: As many as 100 people were examined during Max Hospital, Mohali, during the free multi-speciality health checkup camp at Anaya Hospital and Diagnostics Centre, Kaithal on Sunday. During the camp, a team of Max Hospital doctors examined the patients for their cardiac, orthopaedics, and gynaecology related health problems. The free tests of blood pressure, random blood sugar, and ECG were also offered during the occasion.

Punjab Govt honoured for providing piped drinking water to 100% rural households

Chandigarh: Punjab Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shanker Jimpa on Sunday said that it is a matter of pride for the State Government that it has achieved the target of providing tap or piped drinking water supply to every rural household under ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’.  The total number of rural households in Punjab is 34.26 lakh. Many more such achievements of the first year of the Bhagwant Mann led government will be taken to greater heights in the next four years, he said, adding that Punjab has become the fifth state in India to achieve 100 percent coverage of piped drinking water supply to every rural household.
