A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper on Tuesday allegedly committed suicide in Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh.
Constable Binu M (37) of the CRPF’s 85th Battalion shot himself with his service rifle at around 9.30 am in his barrack in Bijapur town, Bijapur Additional Superintendent of Police Chandrakant Governa told The Pioneer.
His colleagues rushed to his barrack after they heard the gunshots and found him dead, the officer said.
He was a resident of Kerala and had returned from leave a few days ago.
No suicide note was found. The reason behind such an extreme step will be known only after an investigation, the officer added.
