Naman to take out massive ‘Tiranga Yatra’ on March 23

Tuesday, 21 March 2023 | PNS | Jamshedpur

After a hiatus of three years, social cultural organisation, Naman-Shaheedon ke Sapno ko is all set to organise its massive ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in the city to pay tribute to the martyrs on March 23. The yatra is poised to be the largest taken out in the honour of the Tricolour.

Addressing a press meet, founder of Naman, Amarpreet Singh Kale, said that after a gap of three years the procession is being taken over with renewed vigour. Overwhelmed with spontaneous response from previous years, the organisers had made it an annual affair. However, it was suspended for the last three years due to Covid-19. The organisers have promised to make the event grand this year.

Kale said that the idea is to instill nationalism among the people of Jamshedpur. This was the reason a social cultural organisation, Naman-Shaheedon ke sapno- was formed in 2017. The organisation also felicitates soldiers and their family members for their contribution to national security during several wars. He said that the event is being organised in memory of freedom fighters Bhagat Singh along with Rajguru, Sukhdev Thapar who were hanged to death on March 23.

The procession will start from Agrico Transport Ground at 09.55 am. Continuous meetings have been held in various areas of Jamshedpur for the preparations of the yatra and the turn out is expected to be unprecedented.

This yatra started in Jamshedpur when in 2016 in JNU, slogans like "Bharat Mata Tere Tukde Honge Hajar" were raised. In response to that, Naman was formed. This formation was done under the leadership of Amarpreet Singh Kale, a well-known social worker of the city, and since then this yatra is taken out under the leadership of Kale.

The route of the yatra is starting from Agrico Transport Ground via Agrico Chowk, it will head towards Bhalubasa Chowk, Kashidih Chowk, Sakchi Vegetable Market, Sakchi Gol Chakkar, Basant Cinema Chowk, Bus Stand No. 9, Howrah Bridge, RD Tata Chowk, Police Line, Golmuri Akashdeep Chowk. From there again, the journey will end at Agrico Transport Ground. Arrangements have been made for Bhog Prasad for all the patriots involved in the journey at the time of conclusion.

Renowned artists of the country, such as  Anoop Jalota, Kailash Kher, Lakhbir Singh Lakkha, Manoj Tiwari etc. have issued their appeal to participate in this journey. “The key objective of the purpose of this yatra is to keep alive the dreams of the heroic sacrifices and to make the youth power aware of their responsibilities towards the nation. The dream that the martyrs had of how our independent India should be, how the people of India should unite with each other and not become a toy in the hands of any disruptive force, keep it burning,” said Rakeshwar Pandey, patron, Naman.
