Scindia arrives on two-day visit to Harshil valley

Union Civil Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia reached the Harshil valley in Uttarkashi district on a two-day visit on Tuesday. He reviewed the vibrant village scheme in Dharali village and other development works while also interacting with the locals to seek their feedback. Earlier he also met jawans of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police. The Union minister is slated to spend the night in Dharali village.

Reaching Harshil, Scindia offered prayers to the Ganga and at the Kalpkedar shrine. The minister then viewed the stalls put up by various departments including Health, Social Welfare, Industry, Forest, Agriculture, Horticulture, Livelihood and Jal Sansthan among others. He also interacted with locals and beneficiaries of various Central schemes including Ujjwala, pension scheme and other schemes. He also talked to residents of Dharali regarding various facilities as part of the vibrant village scheme. The minister said that the scheme which has been introduced by the Central Government to ensure desired level of development in border villages will ensure integrated and all-inclusive development in the near future.He also sought information about the other schemes being implemented in the area. He also appreciated the work of the self help group of the villagers. Interacting with the ITBP personnel, the Union minister said that it is because of these soldiers that the nation’s borders are secure.
