As part of the pre-announced programme, a gathering of tribals from all over the State including Ranchi took place at Madhuban in Parasnath on Tuesday. The protest rally was taken out from Madhuban to Parasnath hill. The protest march organized under the banner of Jharkhand Bachao Morcha, Marang Buru Sawanta Susar Baisi and Adivasi-Native Sangharsh Morcha reached Dishome Maan police station.

During the protest march, slogans were raised against the Central and State Government. Effigies of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Hemant Soren and local MLA, Sudivya Kumar Sonu were burnt by the protesters. Slogans were also raised against Dishome Guru, Shibu Soren and BJP Legislature Party leader, Babulal Marandi. There was a unanimous demand to stop the encroachment of Marang Buru and to declare it as a place of pilgrimage for tribals.

Many leaders including JMM MLA, Lobin Hembram, Jairam Mahto, Surya Singh Besra, Salkhan Murmu, Geetashree Oraon reached the spot from various parts of the State. After reaching the police station, a meeting was held under the mountain. These leaders said that the Central and State Governments are playing with the sentiments of the tribals. It won't be tolerated. Parasnath hill and campus do not belong to Jains. This hill and complex is a place of pilgrimage for tribals. That's why the Government will have to declare it as a place of pilgrimage for tribals.

Meanwhile, the State Education Minister and JMM leader, Jagarnath Mahto said that there is no dispute between tribals and Jains regarding Parasnath. In Parasnath, tribals and Jains have worshiped together for centuries and some people want to create controversy by force, he added.

Mahto said that there is no such thing as a Mahajutan. He lashed out at former MP Salkhan Murmu and said that there is only one leader in Jharkhand, Shibu Soren. If Salkhan Murmu is such a big leader, then he should go to Odisha and lead the way, he added.

The Minister said that Murmu should become CM, MP-MLA of Odisha. What is he doing in Jharkhand? He said that some people are forcibly creating controversy regarding the Parasnath worship place.

“The local MLA Sudivya Kumar Sonu has found a solution by holding a meeting with all the parties. Both tribals and Jains will continue to worship with their own beliefs and customs after this, where is the dispute there,” said Mahto..
