To mark the 89th Police Foundation Day, a parade was held at the new reserve police ground here on Monday. It was on April 1 in 1936 when the Odisha Police was formed after Odisha (then Orissa) was carved out as a separate State.
Superintendent of Police Yash Pratap Srimal was the chief guest on the occasion who inspected the district-level parade and extended hearty wishes to the force.
After reading the message of the Governor and the Chief Minister, the Subarnapur SP felicitated a total of 6 police personnel for their extremely commendable contributions in policing the previous one year.
Police have always maintained peace, security and good relations with the general public and need cooperation of the people to carry out their work properly, the SP said.
He appealed to the police force to dedicate themselves to the service of the citizens and extended his heartfelt greetings to all on the occasion of Utkal Divas.
