Wednesday, 09 October 2013 | Hujjat Raza | Lucknow

Despite they being on the hit list of Indian Mujahideen many of the Muslim clergy have refused to take additional security saying they are nor scared of these threats.

The Anti Terror Squad (ATS) Maharashtra has recently revealed that many of Muslim clergy likes of Kalbe Sadiq are on the hit list of IM. The information was passed on to the ATS lucknow with instructions that security of these clergy should be beefed up.

"My office situated in lucknow received a call from a government official regading this threat and offered security for me. But I will not take it as I am not scared for this terror group at all," said Shia Cleric and Vice President All India Muslim Personal law Board (AIMPlB), Maulana Dr Kalbe Sadiq.

Dr Sadiq had been known for promoting modern education especially amongst Muslims which could have irked terror group. "Urging Muslims to attain modern education was my only crime that’s why such threats had been wandering over me. In past too, several people were against great educationist, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan," he said.

Another leader on IM’s list, Former MP and General Secretaty, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, Maluana Mehmood Madani said he had heard that his security will be upgraded in wake of this new revelation. "Such terror groups by killing innocent people had always tried to establish their  wrong doings as right. They call themselves Jehadi but actually they are Fasadis (Miscreants) as they do wrong things in the name of Islam," said Madani.

Giving tough reply to the terror group, Madani said: "If  they want to stop me by giving life threats then it will be a waste of time for them. I would never stop talking about Muslim upliftment. Their attempt to ‘kidnap’ religion of peace, Islam would never get accomplished."
