As many as 160, 40 and 30 students respectively have taken admission to PGDM, PGDHRM and FPM.

The fresh students at the IIM-R are learning Indian Culture through an ‘Induction Programme’ wherein meditation and yoga are being taught to them. This two weeks orientation programme concluding on June 30, would also provide the students with opportunities to grasp knowledge about Indian culture through village visits for orientation.Students would be assigned team building measures at the end of this induction learning. The academic classes would commence from July 1.

“Among the 13 IIMs, IIM-R owes a unique name by not imitating the tradition of other established IIMs. That is why I chose this B-school,” said Jayendra Pratap Singh (PGDM 2013-15) who belongs to lucknow. PGDHRM 2013-15 batch Swati lekha from Kolkata said, “IIM-R is one of the fastest emerging management institutions among the top 10 IIMs. For HRM student it offers a wide career horizon with customized schedule.” Noida, Chandigarh and Gurgaon based Durga Prasad Singh, Chahat Ranga and Sahib Oberoi, who are also part of the new PGDM batch felt IIM-R’s introduction to Neuro-Management and Analytics in its course syllabus is one of the obvious reasons for a Common Aptitude Test (CAT) passed candidate to choose IIM-R.

Director MJ Xavier, who welcomed the freshers on Friday in his speech, advised the students about the recent marketing scenario where grabbing a proper job is a matter of struggle for MBA holders. “Management students must be socially oriented,” he said.

Students response to Director’s advice was, “IIM-R imparts details on specialized subjects. The trend of specialization is need of the hour as a manager these days. We hope to benefit with this specialization and be able to build up our career profile in such a manner that it helps us in getting placements.”
